[...] [Philadunkia] After the game both Louis and Eddie Jordan claimed the 20-foot GW FGA that Louis put up was the shot “we wanted” — Really? C’mon, talk about NBA speak and backing up your players. You have to get into the paint on that play and get a closer, higher percentage look so that if the ball doesn’t go in, you have a strong chance of going to the FT line. That’s NBA 101. We know Louis had been hot all night and he had just hit a shot from almost the exact same spot, but we also know that Louis had slashed into the lane all night for easy buckets. Why didn’t he go to the tin in this situation?
I am still taking issue with calling, and stubbornly defending AI9 as a "star" player. There is no doubt this team, since Iverson left, has tried to forge him into its star player and leader. There is no question that he has taken on some of those leadership roles (more so now that Andre Miller left), and there is no doubt that iggy is ONE of the more talented players on the sixers team (rivaling him are Young, Speights and honestly possibly even lou). Thing is, Star players lead their team by example. I know the coaching is not fitting in yet. I know other players arent playing up to potential. But for iggy to go...wait for it...13 for 49 from the floor in the past 3 sixers games, all losses. Lets get that straight, he had 13 total made shots over the past three games. only one of those games (cleveland) was against an opponent competent in the art of defense. That kinda stat is not the thing star players do. not even lower echelon star players. And for all the grumbling about lou's shot selection and not being a point guard (which he never was) his stats over the that 3 game horrible stretch, and for the rest of the season for that matter are solid, indicative of leading a team desparate for scoring by example, and to be honest...better than our "star's" numbers have been all season.

The official reason was a tweaked ham string, but if you read between the lines, it's our opinion it was about Jordan thinking Brand's play was off last night.

Didn't see the game - what was wrong with Brand? He had been great in the few preceding games.
