Magic 76ers BasketballTo the 5,000 fans who did NOT buy the remaining empty seats at the Wachovia Center tonight, we say “congrats” you are much smarter then we are here at Philadunkia, because we just wasted 2.5 hours of our lives watching the Sixers sleep walk through an NBA Playoff elimination game.

That’s all we can muster right now.

More on Friday

I was thisclose to buying tickets tonight, but the $2 charge for printing out tickets pushed me away. Glad I didn’t. What do you even say after a loss like that?

All I have to say is…GET A 3 POINT SHOOTER NEXT SEASON!! Also if you knew that Rashard Lewis was going to be the main shooting threat than THINK OF A STRATEGY FOR HIM!! It was a combination of bad coaching, bad energy, no perimeter defense, and the main thing…NO 3 POINT SHOOTING led to this loss. It was utterly disgusting. I’ll be sick from this one worse than anyone who has the swine flu.

It seems like Jeff and I are the two commenters of this blog. It should get bigger over time. I love getting in at the ground floor of blogs.

Oh, and how about coming up with a strategy to stopping Redick or Alston?

I was a fan of bringing DiLeo back next year, but his inability to get the X&O’s set for Game 6 and stop Leiws & JJ (who ever thought we would right that?) as well as the way the team looked flat and uninspired in Games 5&6 I believe will cost him his job. We’re not saying it’s the right thing to do, but that’s our gut feeling

I agree with the other posters; the Sixers need someone who can shoot…why could Kareem Rush never get off the bench? Their real need is a coach though, someone who can provide an offensive gameplan. Too often the sixers look confused in a half court offense. They just stand around dribbling at the top of the key, then, as time is expiring, they force a bad shot, or drive toward the lane and turn the ball over. Theoretically Elton Brand should help with this, but they really need direction from a coach.
Dalembert is an expiring contract now, right? Which is an asset in the NBA, right? Can they trade him for a shooter or two? ANYONE would be better as a starting center.

Dalembert, Evans, and Green are all around for two more seasons, Ricky. We could definitely see either Jason Smith or Speights as the starting C next year though.

And it’s not DiLeo’s fault that neither Andre Miller nor Willie Green could stop the amazingly potent offensive duo of Rafer Alston and JJ Redick. Reason #1 not to re-sign Miller is that he has proven that he can’t guard even the JJ Redicks of the NBA. Can’t win a championship with that.
