IVERSON UPDATE
12/06/10 10:52 am EST
Allen Iverson recovered nicely from his last game for Besiktas in which he struggled mightily (2 for 5 from the field for 4 points) and was seemingly benched for the entire 4th quarter. Iverson was again in the starting five for the Black Eagles and hauled 37 minutes on the night. The result was a 88-75 victory for Besiktas over Olin Edirne in Turkish League play.
Besiktas is now 5-3 on the TBL season. They are 3-1 in league play and 0-2 in Euroleague action since Iverson’s arrival.
During his 37 minutes of tick, Iverson had 10 points, 5 dimes and 4 steals which is a solid stat sheet considering he is probably still adjusting to his new surroundings and a new style of basketball. However, Iverson’s shooting woes continued over the weekend as he went 2-8 from the field in his latest game. He was also 1-2 on 3PA and 3-5 from the FT line.
Iverson had a load of support in his latest Wfor Besiktas, as five of his teammates scored in double figures. Former UCLA standout Joshua Shipp hit for 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Croatian big man Luksa Andric scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. A.I. probably could have used that kind of help in his later years here in Philadelphia.
Iverson’s next game is a EuroLeague contest on December 7th.
