The 2011 NBA Draft is just hours away and if you have been following all of the mock drafts, online expert predictions and television analysis, it seems there is no consensus as to what the Sixers will do with the No. 16 pick in tonight’s Draft.

However no one knows the Sixers better then the scribes here at  So with that in mind, everyone here at Philadunkia submitted an opinion on which prospect the 76ers will draft at No. 6 tonight as well as why Rod Thorn and company will go in that direction.

Check out our thoughts after the jump.

Kevin Jones – Senior Writer for  :  76ers Select: Bismack Biyombo…Hopefully the scheduled 16th pick is subject to change after an Andre Iguodala deal.  If not Biyombo would be a steal at this spot in the draft. Think of him as a defensive Thaddeus Young and a Sixer who could finally contest post players on the low block.  If he turns out like Serge Ibaka, then Philly will have struck it rich.

Nabeel Ahmadieh – Senior Writer for :  Chris Singleton, SF, Florida State…Unable to find a quality big at the 16th draft spot, the Sixers address their roster by taking the eventual replacement for Andre Iguodala’s defensive duties.  Singleton possesses excellent size, length and athletic ability.  Although he is not polished on the offensive end, his willingness to defend and ability to score in transition will allow him to excel as a role player for the 7-6.  He is not the next-coming of AI9, but could develop into a defensive specialist like Iguodala.

Tom Sunnegren – Contributing Writer for :  Though I’m of the thinking that Best Player Available is the only reasonable draft strategy, my guess is the Sixers will take Markief Morris at 16 because he’ll be the highest rated big guy available and the Sixers need a big guy. If I had my druthers though (and I’ve only had druthers like twice, tops) the 7-6 would take Morehead State rebounding wunderkind Kenneth Faried. He’s undersized and underrated.

Another name that actually makes sense to me, both because Collins’ Crew is sorely lacking in the thing he does best (and pretty much only) and the franchise could use a little excitement, is the Jimmer. And honestly, at 16 you could do a lot worse than a guy with a Steve Kerr-ceiling who can, at worst, bang threes off the bench and enable Mormon jokes.

Carey Smith – Editor for :  I want Bismack Biyombo, Markief Morris or Kenneth Faried.  However I don’t believe either one will be there when the 76ers draft at #16.  So I am predicting that the Sixers will select USC center Nikola Vucevic.  76ers fans may not be thrilled with the pick as it does not have a lot of sizzle factor and I am not in love with Nikola either, but Vucevic can contribute next year.  In fact, by mid-season I bet he will be challenging Spencer Hawes for his starting spot.  Which doesn’t say a whole lot about Spencer.
