Solid piece from Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on the passing of former 76er Armon Gilliam

Bob Cooney at philly.com writes that Gilliam will be remembered as a “good guy”.  Wonder if Sir Charles feels that way?

Well respected hoops blog “The Basketball Jones” ranked Allen Iverson as the 6th best point man of the last 30 years.

Beckley Mason of HoopSpeak lists the Sixers Evan Turner as his 2010-11 rookie who is ready to rise as a sophomore.

With Quin Snyder bolting to Los Angeles, who will be Doug’s fourth assistant in 2011-12?  We’d like to suggest a former NBA point guard be brought in to help with Holiday’s growth.

Jordan Sams at Libertyballers.com has an interesting look at how the lockout may actually be a blessing for the Sixers

Jeff Caplan from ESPNDallas.com writes about how Tyson Chandler is handling being a free agent for the first time in his career.  Man, Chandler would look great in a Sixers uni — of course we’d need to free up some cap space first.

A couple of notes from sixers.com: the annual 76ers Beach Bash will be held on July 30th at Jack’s Place in Avalon, NJ and final auditions for the Sixers Dance Team will be held July 13th at Chickie’s & Pete’s.

Via Twitter we learn that Mo Speights (Mospeights16) has words of wisdom for everyone and that Evan Turner (thekidet) is in Cali trying to spend some time with Spencer Hawes (spencerhawes00).
