NOTES, LINKS & TWEETS

As you probably know, Elton Brand organized some workouts for the 76ers in Los Angeles.  csnphilly.com’s Dei Lynam dropped in on those workouts and talked to various Sixers about the possibility of playing overseas.

A look at Evan Turner’s Li-Ning kicks for the 2011-12 season (if it ever happens).

Sixers.com has an interview with Nationals / 76ers legend Dolph Schayes.

A quick “76ers” Craigslist search brought up this great piece of memorabilia.

Only two 76ers will be representing their countries during international qualifying play for the 2012 Olympics.  Can you name them?

Since there most likely will NOT be a 2011-12 season, we guess we should start looking at the 2012 NBA Draft.  Next summer the fellas at nbadraft.net have the Sixers grabbing Kentucky sophomore Terrence Jones.

To pass time during the lockout NBA TV is running a series of “classic” games titled “Playoff Gems on NBATV”.  Witty title aside, the series looks fantastic and will present two great games featuring our 76ers.

NBA.com has a video look back at the career of 76ers legend Moses Malone.

Sam Ruckey of Bleacherreport feels that 2011-12 is a make or break season for AI9’s career.

Brian at depressedfan.com makes a decent case for the Sixers going after Reggie Williams — once the lockout is over.

Via his Twitter account (@mindofAI9) we see that ‘Dre has found the court side phone at EB’s workouts in LA.

Evan Turner certainly was a bust last season, but he did shows some sparks on why the Sixers picked him at number 2. Hopefully ha can prove his doubters wrong. Ai9 may see a new home sooner than later–his scoring has dropped for three straight years. Sure, he’s a great all around player, esspecially on the defensive end, but he has shown that he is no way the franchise player that the Sixers need. Gettig Reggie Williams will not be a big coup for Philly in my opinion. he is at best a solid spot off role player.
