Legendary basketball journalist Phil Jasner of the Daily News is reporting that the rumors of an Andre Miller sign and trade to New York for Chis Duhon are garbage.
And so another rumor of the 76ers involvement in a sign-and-trade scenario with point guard Andre Miller has been laid to rest. The latest from the streets has the Sixers sending Miller, their unrestricted free agent, to the New York Knicks in exchange for point guard Chris Duhon.
Of course we all remember a week or so ago when Miller was rumored to be headed west to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw. That speculated move now also appears to have been simply just sport radio talk.
With regards to the Miller to the Knicks trade winds:
According to Jasner’s sources with the Knicks, ” there has been no contact with Miller.”
Also, a Jasner source familiar with the Sixers’ situation said, “that no such offer has been made.”
Of course Jasner doesn’t stop there. He reached out to both players’ agents for comments on the rumors.
Andy Miller, the agent for Andre Miller, said in a text message to Jasner, “there is nothing to report.”
Kevin Bradbury, Duhon’s agent also commented via the almighty text message and had this to say, “It’s not true. I have not had any conversations with Philly in regards to this rumor.”
Here’s the full story from Jasner.
