With the 2013 NBA Draft now just hours away, the outcome of the lottery is still a complete mystery. There doesn’ even appear to be a consensus #1 pick at this late stage. Unfortunately for Philadunkia nation, Sam Hinkie and company are going to be left picking up the scraps of the lottery at No. 11.
Earlier this week, we spoke with Cody Zeller (pic at left) who was expected to be available when the Sixers are on the clock. But now, several respected members of the media and Zeller himself are have hinted that the former Hoosier might not even be available at No. 11.
“I don’t know if I will be available at No. 11,” Zeller said during Wednesday’s pre-Draft news conference. “We will see.”
If Zeller does go before the Sixers’ pick and Hinkie wants to draft big, Pittsburgh center Steven Adams will probably be the best available big guy. Adams has skyrocketed up draft boards since the his strong performance at the NBA Draft Combine back in mid-May.
Adams worked out for the Sixers alongside Colton Iverson, Alex Oriakhi, Mouhammadou Jaiteh and Jamelle Hagins on June 5. He thinks the workout went well.
